On September 28th, 2018 we reached our fourth stop on our Grappling for Good Tour – Austin, TX, at the Round Rock Sports Center – for our Tap Cancer Out Austin BJJ Open.
James “Jimmy” Pomar from Brazilian Top Team took home the Top Fundraiser trophy by raising $2,948. Preston Montgomery from BJJ Revolution Team/True Jiu-Jitsu Academy was our Top Children’s Fundraiser having raised $2,306.
Team Rabadi earned the Top Fundraising Team trophy by raising an astounding $15,411 thanks to the efforts of 24 transacting team fundraisers. That was good enough to make them the #2 Fundraising Team throughout the Tour and #8 in the history of Tap Cancer Out.
Ultimately 103 transacting fundraisers and 832 generous donors helped us raise more than $44,682 in direct donations. In total, the tournament raised more than $55,000.
