Philadelphia – 2016

Our first Philadelphia Tap Cancer Out BJJ Open attracted 390 grapplers from all across the mid-Atlantic and beyond welcoming our second-most competitors ever and easily raising the most money for a first-year TCO tournament.Justin Mazzi from TAC Team BJJ earned the top fundraising award with $2,870 raised. TAC Team BJJ also took home the Top Fundraising Team award with $9,594 raised. Tommy Boyce from MPR Endurance took home our Michael Corb Top Children’s Fundraising award with $1,001 raised.

103 fundraisers (and 900 generous door-donors) helped raise $45,000+ in donations. In total, the tournament raised more than $62,000!

We also hosted our first ever black belt superfight featuring Jared Weiner (TAC Team BJJ/BJJ United) vs. Ed Apicella (American Top Team/KORE BJJ). Click here to watch the fight!

And although we don’t officially have team performance awards, congrats to TAC Team BJJ for earning the most Kids and Adult points.
